Real-Time QR Code Reader

Over the last few years, Bar codes have been replaced by the two-dimensional Quick Response (QR) codes. QR codes can carry large information like URL's, Contact Info, Wi-Fi configurations, and so on. There was a need of developing a smart phone app, that can decode information our of a QR, and let the user process the information. This book presents the implementation and development of a QR code reader application in Real-time. QRoid is an android application which efficiently extracts data and stores and processes the extracted data. QRoid extracts a QR code from an observed image and extracts and processes the information decoded in it. We have used image processing algorithms for this purpose. This book can be useful to professionals working either in the QR domain, or looking to familiarize themselves with the Image Processing techniques in Real Time.

Amna Qandeel holds a Master's Degree in Engineering and Management from University of Exeter, UK. Her Bachelor's Degree is in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from NUST, Pakistan. Previously, she has worked as an Android Developer in MTBC. She is currently employed at Telenor Pakistan as a Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst.
