"Physiognomy, among the Arabs, is a natural science by which people's inner morals are known by looking at their outward appearance, such as colors, shapes, and limbs. It is also the inference of inner morals from outward appearance. The Franks call it in their language 'Physiognomy', a name of Greek origin composed of two words that together mean measuring nature or its foundation. What is meant here is inferring a person's strengths and morals by looking at the outward appearance of his body."
